UK service interval
Audi A7 Sportback (C7 2010–2018 · C8 2018–2025) service follows Audi Fixed or Flexible programmes by market, model year, engine code and transmission — there is no single universal A7 interval. Timing-system type must be resolved from the exact engine code; never invent belt or chain claims across C7–C8. Multitronic, S tronic and Tiptronic need separate gearbox-family evidence. A7 family archived until 2025; successor framing is the current A6 family — do not invent A7 2025+. VIN / handbook remains authoritative.
Intervals are whichever comes first (miles or months) unless noted. They vary by engine, model year, market and service regime. Confirm in the handbook, service booklet or dealer system for your VIN before you book work.
| Service | Miles | Months | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scheduled service — Audi Fixed / Flexible | Per Audi VIN schedule | Per MMI / handbook | Fixed vs Flexible and mile/month limits vary by market and powertrain. Confirm dealer system / handbook for this VIN — do not copy one UK row to every A7. |
| Engine oil & filter | Per Fixed/Flexible | Per programme | Oil grade and capacity are engine-code specific. Keep invoices. |
| Timing system inspection / replacement | Engine-code specific | Engine-code specific | Belt vs chain differ by engine family and code across C7–C8. Record type + invoices — never assume one A7 rule. |
| Spark plugs (petrol) / diesel emissions items | Per handbook | Per handbook | DPF/EGR/AdBlue/SCR where fitted — confirm code and generation. |
| Air filter / cabin filter | — | Often annually / per handbook | Typical annual habit — confirm VIN. |
| Brake fluid | — | Per handbook (often ~24 months) | Calendar item — confirm market schedule. |
| Multitronic / S tronic / Tiptronic (where specified) | Per gearbox & handbook | Per gearbox & handbook | Transmission family and code evidence — do not mix Multitronic with S tronic checklists. C8 launch examples include 7-speed S tronic (55 TFSI) and 8-speed tiptronic (50 TDI). |
| quattro / drivetrain fluids (where fitted) | Per drivetrain & handbook | Per drivetrain & handbook | Diff / propshaft / sport differential hardware vary by configuration. |
| Air suspension / chassis (where fitted) | As required | As required / on symptoms | Compressor, air springs, ride-height sensors, dynamic all-wheel steering — keep invoices. |
| 12V / 48V battery test (where fitted) | — | At every service, or sooner if symptoms | MMI / ADAS and MHEV cars are sensitive to weak 12V/48V systems. |
| TFSI e HV checks (where fitted) | Per handbook | Per handbook | Battery SOH, charging and HV repairs — UK archived ~17.9 kWh figures are not universal. |
| Recall / campaign check | — | At every service | VIN- and market-specific — never assume one country’s recall is global. |

UK notes
- Never hardcode one interval or timing claim for every A7 — market, generation and engine code decide.
- Fixed/Flexible programmes are manufacturer framing — confirm VIN.
- Multitronic, S tronic and Tiptronic are different transmission families.
- S7 and RS 7 are not the same as volume FWD Sportback checklists.
- A7 is archived until 2025 — do not invent A7 2025+; cross-link current A6 family as successor framing.
- Intervals are whichever comes first (miles or months) unless noted. Confirm in the handbook, service booklet or dealer system for your VIN before you book work. Legal note: Service intervals and specifications shown are indicative and collected from public or community sources. Official schedules may vary by model year, engine code, market, or dealer updates. Always verify the vehicle handbook (VIN) or consult an authorised dealer before work.
FAQ
- How often should you service an Audi A7?
- It depends on market, generation (C7/C8), engine code, transmission and whether the car is on Fixed or Flexible service. Always verify the VIN-specific Audi schedule — there is no single universal A7 interval.
- Does every A7 have a timing belt?
- No. Timing-system design varies by engine code and model year across C7–C8. Record the engine code and any belt/chain invoices before associating a theme with a vehicle.
- Is Multitronic the same as S tronic?
- No. Multitronic is a CVT used on selected earlier FWD A7s. S tronic is a dual-clutch family. Tiptronic is another automatic family. Store transmission family separately.
- Is there a new A7 after 2025?
- Not on this hub. Audi archives A7 through 2025 and points to the current A6 family as successor. Use A6 for successor-family ownership — do not invent A7 2025+.
- How do I prove service history for an A7?
- Log generation (C7/C8), Sportback body, engine code, transmission, drivetrain, dates, mileage, invoices, inspections and recalls — plus TFSI e battery/charging evidence where applicable.
