Audi A8 (D2 1994–2002 · D3 2002–2010 · D4 2010–2017 · D5 2017–present) service follows Audi Fixed or Flexible programmes by market, model year, engine code and transmission — there is no single universal A8 interval. Timing-system type must be resolved from the exact engine code; never invent belt or chain claims across D2–D5. Multitronic and Tiptronic need separate gearbox-family evidence. A8 L, S8 and TFSI e stay specification-aware. Do not invent a BEV A8 schedule. VIN / handbook remains authoritative.

- A8 D2 (1994–2002): First series-production ASF aluminium A8. Petrol V6/V8 and 2.5 TDI; Manual/automatic/quattro; early S8. Classic/older ownership — aluminium body, suspension, timing, cooling and parts availability.
- A8 D3 (2002–2010): A8 / A8 L; Multitronic/Tiptronic; MMI and adaptive air suspension expansion; W12 and S8 V10. Do not apply D5-only themes backwards blindly.
- A8 D4 (2010–2017): Modern aluminium, LED lighting, TFSI/TDI families, S8/S8 plus. Hybrid/PHEV developments were market/MY specific — confirm VIN.
- A8 D5 (2017–present): Digital cabin, 48V MHEV, TFSI e PHEV, A8 L and S8. Current UK range remains active — UK TFSI e battery/range figures are market-labelled only.

- How often should you service an Audi A8?

- Does every A8 have a timing belt?

- No. A8 L is a long-wheelbase body derivative. Keep it distinct from standard wheelbase in the garage and service history.
